Your ideal conversation

If you were at a dinner table with 3 empty seats, and you could fill them with 3 people (living or dead), for an extended conversation about life, politics, wine, wealth, women, whatever... who would you invite?

  1. I think for me it would be

    1. Brad Pitt
    2. Karl Rove
    3. Charles Darwin

Stephen Hawking, Michael Mann and Alexander the Great would be on the shortlist though.

  4. 1. Billy Collins
    2. Langston Hughes
    3. Garrison Keillor
and then I'd give up my seat for
    4. W.H. Auden

If nothing else, you would definitely get a good poem out of it.
And really, if I'm at a dinner table, I want to talk to people that I actually want to listen to.
